Host family needed!
My colleague at the Ray School, Kristin Olmstead, is looking for a family to host a young French woman for one week this summer.
Here is the information:
Would you be interested in the wonderful opportunity of hosting an 18 year old girl visiting from just outside of Paris, France this summer? Laura Langlois will be here from July 3rd to July 25th. Laura has already been assigned to two host families but still needs housing from July 11th to July 19th. It would be wonderful to give Laura the most variety in her American homestay as possible. One thing to note is that Laura is more than willing to provide childcare in exchange for meals and a place to stay. If you would like to share your home with Laura, or would like more information, please contact Kristin Olmstead, French teacher at the Ray School, 603-643-6655, or by email at olmstead.kristin@gmail.com.
I asked Laura to write a “petite biographie” on herself that I could share with potential host families. This is what she wrote:
Hello Kristin!!!
I'm sorry I answer a bit late. I was in England last two weeks in order to improve my speaking and writing for my exams. It has been very funny !! And now I return to school ... but it is nearly the end and the beginning of the summer holidays !!! In Paris, the sun shines, I'm delighted!! Like you, I'm very impatient to come again to the United States!! I write you my "autobiography", maybe there are some mistakes, sorry ...
My name is Laura and I'm an eighteen year old student. I'm cheerful and very helpful. I live in a town out of Paris (15 minutes by the train). I'm learning mathematics and physics at a high university in Paris. It's a very intensive school which prepares us to engineering exams. However I don't really know what I would be later, I'm very undecided about this. The only things I'm sure, I prefer to work in the area of sciences and I would travel all the world. My father is an engineer and my mother is a chemistry professor, so I live in a scientist family. I'm very open-minded, I love discovering other countries , other civilizations, and other lifestyles.
I have a sister, Magalie (11 years) and a brother, Thomas (13 years). I like playing and taking care of children. I have done baby sitting and I'm used to looking after my family's children. We have no pets in my house, but I love them. I'm not vegetarian and I have no allergies.
I love all sports; basketball, running, horse riding, tennis, swimming, ping pong.... , even if I haven't enough time this year to play sports because of my school... I played on a basketball team for 5 years, and I have stopped this year for my studies. In my spare time, I meet all my friends, we spend the evening in Paris, we go shopping or to the movies. I'm told that I'm a kind and trustworthy girl. Moreover I'm very delighted going to the United States and spending time with you.
Sincerely, Laura
